Capital Securities for Liverpool

Liverpool - Liverpool 2-0 victory over Everton means a lot to Rafa Benitez. He thought it would be a valuable capital for the Reds to get back to victory lane.

Liverpool managed to win the Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park Sunday (29/11/2009). Own goal Joseph Yobo and a contribution from Dirk Kuyt take 'The Red' to conquer the derby rivals.

These three points bring Liverpool up to rank six Premiership standings with a value of 23. But that's not the only meaning that victory for Rafa.

According to the Spanish trainer, won the derby lift up the moral of their players in the nextmatch.

As we all know Liverpool are currently in bad condition after eliminated from the Champions League in the middle of last week, has failed in the Carling Cup and appeared sluggish in the Premier League defeat to have as many as five times.

"This is a significant victory for us. Derby is always a difficult fight, so it can be a boost to us for the rest of this season," said Rafa on the official club website.

"Obviously this is a difficult fight, and they (Everton) played with a very straightforward and has a good set pieces. It is difficult to control them, and I think we managed to show character."

At present, Liverpool actually have a chance to become champion in the third event, the Premiership (though heavy), FA Cup and Europa League. Realistically, the last two competitions are the main prop of this team to gain the title in the 2009/10 season.
